Life is Full of Learning Opportunities

"The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards."  Anatole France

The children learned why their skeletal system is so important using play-dough and toothpicks.

Life skills.

Target Practice

Knife throwing thanks to Daniel and Kaleb.

We held a Rite of Passage ceremony for Bailie and welcomed her into woman hood with special food, godly women, memorable gifts and encouraging letters.

This year we studied the Middle Ages and Dad helped make memories with the children.

This year was Rylie's 10th birthday and we have a big 'surprise' party for the children when they turn 10.

Aunt Sharon Wray came over once a week to listen to the little ones read and give this momma encouragement.  She is a gem!

De-boning her first chicken.

Helping momma cut soap.

Bailie had her first babysitting opportunity with Miss Ruby.

Learning how the lung works.

Making grass heads with their older sister.

Life in the blood.

Learning about the heart and ventricles.

Watching our pulse.

Building close relationships with amazing families.

Learning hospitality, deliverance and how God is the orchestrator of our lives.

Cake decorating classes from Mrs. Artz.  Thank you sweet friend.

Selling our home made creations at Oasis.

Team work!

Bailie's Needle work.

Baking with cousins.

Tearing down a deck...team work.

Learning about the cell

The children REALLY enjoyed the edible cell, a little too much!

After our assessment yesterday and the good reports on each of you along with a healthy seasoning of encouragement, we can put away the books and binders for a small season and start to think and pray about the upcoming year and what all the Lord wants to teach us.  I thank Him for all we have learned this year and for the growth I have seem in each of you along with myself.

My sweet little ones, may you each grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ {2 Peter 3:18}, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding {Psalm 111:10}.   I pray you will always have a teachable spirit and rest like clay in the hand of your Potter {Jeremiah 18:6}.  Even though our books are packed away, your amazing minds that God has gifted you with can never be packed in a box and placed on a shelf.  Seek wisdom as you would search for silver or hidden treasures {Prov. 2:4}, ask for wisdom and it shall be generously given to you {James 1:5}.  May we never stop learning TOGETHER!  I love you to the moon and back...or like Jack says, 'To outer-space and back 100 times.'
