Introducing: Tulip, Curly, Hungry and Scaredy. According to hubby, they are good foragers that we will finish with apples and acorns.
OK...I've told you how smart my husband is right? Well, I'm going to share with you one of his contraptions to prove it. Below is the water tower and nipples that he built for the hogs to use. Now he doesn't have to take them water every day. Genius I tell you. :)
Danielle Berger brought us 6 yellow baby chicks on Wednesday they were already named by Bridget: Shelly, Yoko, Poachy, Benedict, Huevo, and Omelet. We aren't sure if they are fryers or white layers...I guess time will tell. :) We also brought home 24 baby hens who aren't named yet. We get 32 more this week.
Our older hens are starting to slow down a bit in the egg laying business. We will be looking for a home for them in about 20 weeks. You can have them butchered or keep them for an egg every now and again. Free for the asking.
